shiroさんには日本語訳で随分お世話になっているので、 今度日本に帰ったら買ってみたいと思います。 Amazonでも買えますが、 本は手数料が高いので。

_ReportLab Toolkit

しばらく前に気づいた事なんですが、 ReportLabで日本語などを扱いたいとき、 ReportLabのデフォルト設定やウェブ上で得られる情報では、 どれもAcrobat ReaderのフォントからCMapを取得することばかり書かれています。 しかしAcrobat Readerは基本的に再配布不可なので、 大変不便です。

それで、何とかならないのかと試したのですが、 結論から言って、GhostscriptのCMapでもちゃんと動作するようです。 っていうか、中身は同じなんですね。

Acrobat Readerのライセンスには再配布を禁止することばかり書いてあるので、 てっきり全然駄目なのかと思っていたのですが、 CMapのライセンスはAcrobat Reader本体とは全然違うんですね。 CMapのライセンスはこうなってます:

要するに、変更しなければ、そのまま配ってよろしいと。 「Patents Pending」が微妙に気になりますが、 とりあえず使えるだけありがたいってものです。
